And the first film of the 2011 Sundance Film Festival

The Guard starring Don Cheadle and Brendan Gleeson. I will post my thoughts about it later. We are excited to have gotten three of us in, since it is a tiny venue. The next film at the Eccles will be Pariah and won't be difficult to get into at all. And best of all, Eef will be there.

Shiri and I easily found tickets to the first Sundance movie of 2011.

More of the gang arrives, waits for bus to main street

First celebrity sighting of the festival

....Is Danny Glover eating alone at the restaurant at the Marriott. Shall I say hello to him from our mutual friends the building security staff at 275 Seventh Avenue?

Also this is my first update from my iPad/wireless keyboard set up. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's about 3% points of battery life for every word I type. Is there a word for people who are afraid of letting their appliances lose all battery life?

Agenda:

1) Eat lunch with Amber
2) Grocery shop
3. Head up to the Egyptian and try to get one ticket (or four) to The Guard. Exercise in futility since the place only holds 296 people. Please wish me luck!

Park City is already awesome for two reasons:

1. We were first out of ten people on our shuttle to be dropped at our hotel

2. We are in the exact same hotel room as last year. Ha!

Amber and I begin our journey to Park City

Flying in six hours. 4 hours of work left to accomplish.

Dicey!

Eef's mom is preciousness.

My flight leaves in 10 hours.

Let's review what I've accomplished from my to-do list.

Finish work
Pack
Clean for subletter
Eat the last three caramels in the candy jar so I can eventually wash it

Sort of progress - Y/N?

Dear Sundance.

Dear Sundance Film Festival,

The dates of your festival are, as it turns out, not convenient for me and my work schedule. It's simply an inopportune time. Next month would be better for me.

I'd like to kindly request that you push the dates back by at least four weeks so I can better manage my stress level.

Let me know when you have made the sufficient changes so I can contact Delta airlines and reschedule my flight. In the event you cannot honor my request, I shall see you tomorrow anyway.

Thanks for your prompt attention to this matter.

Dor

Next year, I must also convince my friend Alison to come to Sundance.
